March 2015 Meeting, Spring Mega Brew…& more

Hey All,

There is a lot of information to go over this month so I’ll try to keep it short.

First up, the March MCZA club meeting will be held March 19th starting at 7PM in the Ice Harbor Brewery. Please show up to Pay your dues and Sign up for the Spring Mega Brew.

Second, Spring Mega Brew will be held April 11th starting at 8AM. We are making a Single Malt and Single Hop (SMaSH) IPA. See the 5 gallon recipe below if you cant make it to Mega Brew. If you’re a member the first 5 gallons of wort costs $15 and any additional will cost you $10 per 5 gallons. Please sign up early because we are going to be doing something different with this Mega Brew, 60 Gallons is going to be set aside and fermented, dry hopped, and kegged at Ice Harbor so we can sell in on tap at both Ice Harbor and The Growler Guys Richland during a special event in May. More details about this event will be shared during the March Meeting.

Third, we are looking for someone to take over the Benton Franklin Fair Competition coordination. This person will be in charge of collecting and recording submissions to the competition, coordinating a judging location, and interfacing with the BFF beer and wine competition superintendent. If you are interested please contact publicist@mcza.org, It is critical that we find someone willing to step up and help as soon as possible.

Lastly, The Growler Guys Richland has offered our club an opportunity to participate in Hop Sample Aroma Evaluations. If this is something you are interested in or would like to know more about please contact ashley@thegrowlerguys.com
