It's time for a party! 6pm, Saturday January 16, 2010. This will probably be our official meeting for the year, so we also have to elect a prez and vp. Don't make me call a meeting on the 21st, you guys! Members and a guest are invited to our annual Christmas in January get together. The club will provide the meat. Everyone please bring a side dish or dessert. And. And. Homebrew! The club usually buys a keg of Ice Harbor beer, but don't take chances. Our motto is responisble consumption of excellent homebrew, so you may want to arrange a designated driver or pre-order a taxi. Also, be mindful of our host's property and their neighbors. We want to be invited back; it's a COOL place! Map and phone number (if you get lost) below in the "more" |

Here's the latest word on the Megabrew: Sat, 7Nov. Grind grain Friday. Mash in around 8am on Sat. Dan and Bill will be looking for volunteers. Remember we fill in PAID order and everyone gets their "first" before we pour "seconds" Porter style so people can add cheeries, smoke, you-name-it. Recipe from James: Here is the grain bill planned for the megabrew unless there needs to be some changes due to availability or brewhouse efficiency 325# 2-row 66.87% 100# munich 20.58% 23# Crystal 60 4.73% 23# Chocolate 4.73% 15# Black Patent 3.09% Depending on the AA% of the hops I was thinking magnum (25-28IBUs) at the beginning for bittering and then a 30 and 15 minute addition of Willamette I won't be able to make it on friday night for the grind but will get to the brewery as early on saturday as I can James |
